2,800 UAE Nationals, Residents Received 
Services from ‘Jobs Abu Dhabi’

ABU DHABI — More than 2,800 UAE nationals and residents received services from Jobs Abu Dhabi, in which 40 per cent are Emiratis, Samir Abdul Latif, strategy and planning director at the Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre (ADSIC), said on Sunday.

Latif said, while delivering a presentation on ‘E-government programme overview’ of ADSIC’s 3rd Abu Dhabi e-government forum in the capital. ‘Jobs Abu Dhabi’, an online recruitment system created by ADSIC, showed that Abu Dhabi witnessed a continuously increasing recruitment rate across all sectors this year. ADSIC will also hold Geographic Information System (GIS) November 18-19 in Abu Dhabi to network and share ideas and experiences. Over 35 leading organisations from emirate will take part in it.

The forum intended to further unify all public and private sectors under e-government programme to protect government information and deal with the risk and magnitude of harm that could result from the loss, misuse, unauthorised access to, or modification of information.

On jobs Latif said, ADSIC’s jobs site helped more than 2,800 UAE nationals and residents find appropriate jobs.

According to ADSIC’s recent survey about the current situation recruitment showed taht the public sector recruited 61 per cent of applicants through this web site of whom 43 per cent are nationals.

The private sector absorbed 39 per cent of applicants of whom 20 per cent are nationals. ADSIC has put further efforts to attract an increasing number of skilled workforce and encourage the nationals to work in the private sector.

Rashed Lahej Al Mansouri, ADSIC director general, said, “Jobs Abu Dhabi is basically designated to activate Abu Dhabi labour market in their recruitment-related efforts and to improve the transparency of available jobs and eligible applicants.”

Moreover, the portal has become a world-wide platform for job seekers from more than 70 per cent of the world countries.
