The card, also called blue card, was launched by Younis Haji Al Khoori, director-general of the ministry of finance (MoF), and Saif Al Shehhi, general manager- domestic banking, National Bank of Abu Dhabi.
National Bank of Abu Dhabi is the official MoF partner for the cards and STS is the developer of the card system.
A live demonstration was conducted in the presence of Faisal Al Mansouri, director of revenue development department at MoF, Ramzi Zein, chairman of STS, and other senior officials.
An e-services portal was also launched for the ministry in conjunction with the new electronic payment gateway for the 2nd generation e-Dirham cards.
The latest branch is the second branch of the company at Sahara Centre and one of the eight branches opened in the UAE this year, the exchange house said in a statement
