The event will take place at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from December 14 to 16. Held every two years, the event has evolved into one of the world’s fastest-growing maritime events, ranking among the top 10 in the industry.

It is held under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai.

The organisers expect participation to increase by at least 30 per cent this year, with more national pavilions than ever, including China, France, Holland, India, Germany, Singapore and the UK.

The last event in 2006 registered a record attendance of 6,000 trade participants from 63 countries — 45 per cent from outside the region.

The debate on shipping economics takes place at the Middle East Money and Ships conference. High-level speakers specialising in maritime finance along with leading regional shipping operators will be taking part.
