Arab Carpet and Flooring Expo, the only carpet- and flooring-focused event in the Mena region, will take place for the second time from September 12-14 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
The Yarn and Fiber Expo will also be taking place alongside the event.
Abu Dhabi was chosen for these events due to the presence of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which owns the world's largest hand-made carpet and which also has world-class flooring.
The unique carpet, made especially for the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque by around 1,300 carpet knotters, measures 5,627 sqm (60,570 sqft), weights 35 tonnes, has approximately 2.27 billion knots and took approximately two years to complete. It was made from cotton and wool.
The first edition of the Arab Carpet and Flooring Expo was a successful launch trade show, which saw 47 exhibitors come together from 15 countries around the world, along with visitors from 34 countries.
Following on from the success of the first edition, the event aims to continue to make Abu Dhabi the hub of carpet and flooring in the Mena region by providing a platform for the world's very best to showcase their products, services, technologies and innovations every year.
No other event in the region provides a platform such as this for exhibitors, sponsors, visitors, industry professionals, private buyers and all other interested individuals and parties to participate in a set of events that focus specifically on carpet and flooring and to take advantage of the abundant economic, social, educational and environmental opportunities that exist locally and regionally in this space.
