“The revenues and profits for the first quarter of 2009 are very satisfactory considering the difficult times,” said Riad Kamal, CEO of Arabtec Holding.
Arabtec did not release comparative data, but last year the company reported a consolidated profit of Dh231.4 million for the first quarter of 2008, a 285 per cent increase from Dh60.1 million in the same quarter in 2007. Consolidated revenue in the first quarter of 2008 was Dh1.9 billion compared to Dh837 million during the same period of 2007, an increase of 124 per cent.
