Bahrain Improves World Economic Forum’s IT Ranking

MANAMA — Bahrain has moved up the rankings for the second consecutive year in the World Economic Forum’s Global Information Technology Report. A rise of eight places since 2008 puts the kingdom at 37th out of 134 economies worldwide.

Published for the eighth consecutive year, the report is a comprehensive and authoritative international assessment of the impact of information and communication technologies, or ICT, on the development process and competitiveness of nations. Its networked readiness index assesses how prepared countries are to use ICT effectively.

Bahrain has made significant progress in all the index components this year with gains of 13 in environment, nine in readiness and four in usage.
