Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Electronics Shopper, which opened on Wednesday, is offering discounts up to 54 per cent on selected consumer electronics.
The show was inaugurated by Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, or Adnec, saw over 50-exhibutors displaying a wide range of electronics products and services related to information technology, consumer electronics, mobile phones, lifestyle and leisure, as well as gaming, home and office automation appliances, sports and medical equipment, security and control systems.
ADES 2015 is taking place at a time when the country’s domestic consumer electronics market is expected to increase in value to $4.8 billion by end of 2015. In 2014, the event attracted 35 exhibitors and close to 60,000 visitors while generating Dh35 million in total sales value.
This year, the organisers are expecting a good turn out from the shoppers as exhibitors are offering handsome discounts on consumer electronics to attract customers. A salesman at Plug Ins said China made Hisense smartphone set carries 54 per cent discount apart from Dh100 worth vouchers, a selfie stick, a power bank and micro SD card as give away.
Discounts and vouchers are being on smartphopnes, mobile phones, music systems, digital cameras. Participating retailers include Sharaf DG, Plug-Ins, Jacky Retail, Grand Stores, Techlink, and Jurassic, among others. Visitors can also expect a series of promotional events supported by major consumer brands such as Samsung, Nikon, Hisense, Huawei, Toshiba, HP, Quantum, Philips, and AOC.
