The upgraded facility measures 1,044 sqm with seating for 134 guests and boasts stylish design elements inspired by the airline's new branding and image.
Shane O'Hare, Etihad Airways' senior vice-president for marketing, said: "This upgraded lounge embodies the contemporary design, attention to detail and customer focus synonymous with Etihad Airways. Our guests travelling from and transiting through Abu Dhabi Terminal 3, and now Terminal 1, will start their journey with a superior lounge experience in a stylish and well equipped environment where they can relax and re-charge."
Open 24 hours a day, the new Terminal 1 Premium Lounge offers a range of facilities catering to the diverse needs of today's business and leisure travellers. As with the lounge in Terminal 3, the upgraded facility includes comfortable armchairs, a dedicated dining area, state-of-the-art business amenities, complimentary Wi-Fi connectivity, USB power outlets, bathrooms with shower facilities and a playroom for children.
Lounge guests will also be treated to Etihad Airways' signature food and beverage service with a choice of restaurant-style dining and a buffet complemented by an extensive selection of beverages.
The renowned Six Senses Spa at the lounge has been completely refurbished and is available to promote travel health and well-being. Lounge guests are invited to use the spa prior to boarding flights and can enjoy a complimentary 15-minute spa session.
The Terminal 1 Premium Lounge is open to Etihad Airways first and business class guests, qualifying Platinum Etihad Guest members and the equivalent tier loyalty program members of Etihad Airways partner airlines flying from Abu Dhabi.
The Terminal 1 Premium Lounge complements the extensive range of Etihad lounges at Abu Dhabi International Airport, which include the Terminal 3 Premium Lounge and the recently-opened US Premium Lounge, exclusively available for our first and business class guests travelling to US destinations within the US pre-clearance facility located at the airport.
The airline also offers the region's only arrivals lounge for guests arriving into Abu Dhabi. Etihad's lounge network is further expanding in the coming months. New lounges currently under development including the dedicated First Class Lounge in Abu Dhabi, as well as the upcoming international lounges in New York, Los Angeles and Melbourne.
