“The UAE is the biggest business hub in the region and one of the most important trading hubs in the world. The Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina is looking forward to strengthen its economic ties with the UAE and further increase the trade between the two countries”, said Radomir Kosic, the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Abu Dhabi.

“We are witnessing a fast and dynamic growth in our trade relationships with the UAE,” he added.

The Ambassador said that the number of Emirati and GCC companies that entered the Bosnian market during the last two years has risen to 15, including three government-owned companies.

Currently, GCC countries have investments worth more than Dh360 million in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Some of the biggest are the investments of Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank, Dubai Islamic Bank and Jeddah’s Islamic Development Bank, who have focused on the finance and real estate sectors.

These banking organisations have increased their investment last year by 90 per cent from €25 million to €45 million by the end of 2009.
