Dubai: Can-Pack Group, the world renowned manufacturer of aluminium beverage cans, marked the official inauguration of its new manufacturing plant at Dubai Investments Park.

The launch coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Can-Pack Group. The 150,000sqf facility with a daily production capacity of 1.75 million cans is the group’s second manufacturing plant in the area. The facility will also serve as a warehouse and distribution centre for the group.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several prominent guests, including Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, UAE Minister of Economy; Prof. Adam Krzymowski, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland; Abdul Baseet Al Janahi, CEO of Dubai SME; Khalid Kalban, CEO of Dubai Investments; Omar Al Mesmar, general manager of Dubai Investments Park; Philip Impink, president and CEO of Can-Pack Group; Michal Sloniec, managing director of Can-Pack Middle East; and Peter Giorgi, shareholder of Can-Pack Group.

Speaking at the inauguration, Philip Impink, CEO, Can-Pack Group said: “We are delighted to inaugurate this manufacturing plant that will enable us to better service our clients. Since first establishing a beverage can factory in Dubai Investments Park in early 2007, we have witnessed a growing demand for high quality one-way packaging. This facility has enabled us to bring our total capacity of cans to over 1.6 billion per annum or a spectacular five million cans per day.”

Can-Pack Group’s high quality production of cans has received attention from major companies worldwide such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Heineken, Carlsberg, SAB-Miller, and InBev. To ensure its products remain environmentally friendly, Can-Pack only uses water-based paints and varnishes that eliminate the negative impact of printing and varnishing on the natural environment.

Can-Pack Middle East is a subsidiary of Can-pack. The company is based out of Poland and has recently completed 25 years since its operations started in 1989, under the name of Pol-Am-Pack.

With its 38 plants located across Europe, Middle East, North Africa and Asia built over the last 25 years, the company aspires to become a global leader in metal packaging. In 1994, Can-Pack started its beverage cans business, which now contributes to almost 80 per cent of the company’s business.
