Chinese car manufacturers confident about ME market

GAC Motor launched their GN8 on the opening day of the Dubai International Motor Show 2019 at the Dubai World Trade Center.

Chinese auto manufacturers have expressed their confidence in the UAE's automobile market, with many pointing to the success that various Chinese models have enjoyed in the country over the past couple of years.
Chinese officials at the ongoing 15th edition of the Dubai International Motor Show (DIMS 2019) noted that they were looking forward to introducing more models into the UAE market, that are in line with current trends, and expected a steady growth in sales.
GAC Motor, which marked its third time participating at the event, showcased its GS5, GN6, and Aion S models at the show. The Chinese car company also launched its luxury multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), the GN8, for the Middle East region. The launch signals the next phase of GAC Motor's growing expansion within the region as part of its vision to become a world-class brand and a global company.
"The Middle East has always been one of the most important overseas markets for GAC Motor, and we are honored to attend the Dubai International Motor show for the third consecutive time," said Zeng Hebin, general manager of GAC Motor International Sales Company. "Today, we invite everyone to enjoy the moment with us, and together realise our ideal future life."
Hebin noted that GAC Motor's third appearance at DIMS reflects the growing importance of the region as an essential overseas market. Moving forward, GAC Motor will continue to accelerate its market development in the Middle East. The company recently opened a new showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road, and has plans to open its first showroom in Oman this month. GAC Motor will also open its first regional brand experience centre in Kuwait by the end of this year. At the same time, GAC Motor's Middle East office is underway with plans to begin operating next year to support its expansion in the Middle East.
Hongqi, an independent brand operating under Chinese automaker FAW Group, made its debut at the show this year, and took the opportunity to launch its latest models. The company, which is famous for its large and stately limousines, unveiled its flagship crossover SUV, the HS7, which is equipped with advanced assisted driving solutions which offer a luxurious driving experience. The company also took the opportunity to showcase its L5 model, which is considered to be the most expensive car to ever be made in China.
Officials at the stand noted that they consider the UAE to be an important market, not just because of its strong auto sector, but also because it will act as their gateway to the rest of the Middle East region. The Gulf market will remain the brand's top priority with more model launches planned over the next two years.
