Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, or Dewa, has recently awarded the contract to implement 600 pocket substations from an Emirati company.
The 11/0.4 kilovolt pocket substations will have a transmission capacity of 1,000 kilovolts per ampere.
“The scope of the contract includes the design, manufacturing, testing, and delivery of 600 substations with a total cost of Dh72.55 million. At Dewa, we remain always ready by maintaining suitable stock levels of equipment, such as cables and substations according to our anticipated levels of use in all projects, ” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dewa.
