Dubai and Africa Explore Investment Opportunities

DUBAI — As part of its strategic objective of promoting Dubai as an international business hub, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry hosted a dinner reception in honour of a high-level trade delegation from the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa, or Comesa, headed by Welshman Ncube, Zimbabwean Minister of Industry and Commerce, at the Jumeirah Emirates Tower hotel 
on Wednesday.

Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman, Dubai Chamber, welcomed the Comesa delegation.

In his welcome address, Al Ghurair stressed that Dubai shared age-old ties with some of the 19 member countries of Comeca, mainly from the South and East Africa regions, and praised the group countries for their hard work in promoting investment and economic prosperity through regional integration.

He also called upon the visitors to explore investment opportunities in Dubai that caters to investors from over 168 countries of the world and offers trading, banking, financial services and consultancy,information technology,exports and re-exports facilities.

Al Ghurair said, “Thanks to the vision of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the emirate has succeeded in building a friendly business environment that fulfills the needs of investors, through distinguished facilities such as complete income and company tax exemptions and through providing a highly efficient technological structure, property facilities and professional services to cater to the needs of investors and their families.”
