A study finds that that seven out of 10 Tunisians aged between 18 and 29 wish to emigrate
This initiative is being done by the Chamber to recognise, support and encourage Dubai companies engaged in the small and medium enterprises, or SME, sector.
Dubai Chamber Director General Hamad Buamim presented the Certificates of Recognition and trophies for achievements in their respective months to Globistic General Trading (January), Al Nahda Trading (February), Tawazon Chemical Company (March) and AquaChemie (April).
The SME Exporter of the Month began in 2009 as the SME Exporter of the Quarter. Mohsen Line General Trading, Integra International and EnerPlastics were those awarded in 2009.
It was renamed to its present name this year, due to its success to encourage trading companies. It is now set to recognise companies on a monthly basis.
Dubai Chamber Executive Director for Economic Research and Sustainable Business Development Sector Dr Belaid Rettab said that the SME Exporter of the Month recognition has established itself as a successful initiative to inspire SMEs, which form the majority of businesses in Dubai, to perform well in the trading sector.
This was further supported by the general managers of the recognised companies, who expressed their gratitude to Dubai Chamber for the distinguished support provided for their performance. It was also reiterated that this recognition serves as a great catalyst for staff motivation.
Rettab added that Dubai is well known for being the world’s third largest re-export centre and that the SME Exporter of the Month initiative highlights the contribution of SMEs to this notable accomplishment.
