As World Teachers' Day is celebrated across the country, these teachers share their stories and what inspires them to go to school every day
This information was revealed during a series of workshops and lectures organised by the Council, which supports the Award and encourages businesswomen and professionals to participate in it. The workshop was attended by Fathiya Al Khumeiri, Member of the Executive Board, DBWC, Mrs. Fatima Abdul Qader, Business Development Executive, DQG, Mrs. Thanaa El Tabie, Business Excellence Consultant, DQG, Eng. Mary Jane Alvero Al Mahdi, EWA Runner-up of the Professional Category in 2008, and Sahar Madani, Wife of Saudi General Consul, Dubai and President of the Diplomatic Ladies Group, that has showed admiration for the interest that UAE gives to women.
In her opening speech, Al-Khumeiri expressed her thanks to the participants, the organisers of the Award, and Dubai Quality Group for the efforts they are making to encourage institutions and individuals to apply the highest standards of quality in their work, to benefit not only them selves but also to reflect positively on the corporate reputation of Dubai and the United Arab Emirates, which has been recognised as a leader of excellence worldwide.
Fathiya Al Khumeiri emphasised the importance of EWA that has won considerable support, since it is being held under the patronage of Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation, Chairman of Emirates Airlines Group and the Honorary Patron of DQG.
The Award is considered a powerful motivation for women to compete in applying the highest standards of quality in the environment in which they work. It also contributes to the upgrading of the service sector.
“This is what characterises the United Arab Emirates, which enjoys a developed infrastructure and is home to high-class services,” she said.
Al Khumeiri said: “The Dubai Business Women Council as a supporter of the Emirates Women Award, has organised a series of lectures and workshops aimed at different segments of women, whether they are businesswomen or professionals, for the Council benefits in having a broad base of members and being in constant contact with Arab and non-Arab women.
