“We want to introduce our companies to US investors to raise awareness,” Borse Dubai Chairman Essa Kazim in an interview yesterday. “New York is the capital of global financial centers and bringing listed companies to the international arena will secure an excellent opportunity for institutional investors to meet senior executives.”

The meetings are scheduled for November 2 and 3 at the New York Palace Hotel. The two-day meetings, co-hosted by the Dubai Financial Market and Nasdaq Dubai, seek to boost liquidity after the worst financial crisis since the 1930s prompted many investors to pull out of the region. The Dubai Financial Market General Index has climbed 40 per cent this year.

Shuaa Capital PSC, Arabtec Holding Co., Aramex PJSC, Mazaya Holding Co., Air Arabia, Dubai Financial Market PJSC, International Financial Advisors, Drake & Scull International and Dubai Islamic Bank are among the listed on Dubai’s bourse taking part in the roadshow. From Nasdaq Dubai, Depa Ltd., DP World, NetSol Technologies Inc. and Hikma Pharmaceuticals Plc will be represented at the meetings. “Every time we’ve seen one of these exchanges go to Europe or America we’ve seen volumes move up,” said Rabih Sultani, a fund manager at Duet Mena Ltd. in Dubai.
