Essa Kazim will be succeeding Abdullah Mohammed Saleh, who will continue to serve as a member of the DIFC Board of Directors. The decree will be effective with effect from January 1, 2014.
Shaikh Mohammed praised the dedication and efficiency of Abdullah Saleh in serving his country throughout his tenure as DIFC Governor, during which he played a pivotal part in emphasising the leading role of Dubai as an international hub for the financial services industry.
Shaikh Mohammed also highlighted Abdullah Saleh’s professional role in supporting the banking sector in the UAE for over five decades.
The appointment of a new governor for the DIFC is in line with the development march of Dubai, which seeks to pump new blood into various sectors to attain ongoing growth.
