Based in Karachi, Khan will be responsible for managing the Abu Dhabi-based airline’s commercial operations throughout the country, says a Press statement on Friday.
Khan joins Etihad Airways from American Airlines, where for the last eight years he served as regional manager for the Middle Eastand Pakistan.
Before that, he worked as a Business Development Manager at South African Airways. His career also includes spells working in the automotive and fast moving consumer goods industries.
“Amer’s extensive commercial experience in the Middle East and Pakistan will be invaluable in his new role. With a strong background in aviation as well as valuable knowledge gathered from other commercial environments, I’m sure he will prove to be a valuable asset in leading Etihad’s Pakistani team,” said Adrian Parkes, Etihad Airways’ Vice-President for Sales.
Etihad currently operates 23 flights a week between Abu Dhabi and four Pakistani cities with daily flights to Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore and two services a week to Peshawar.
