Etisalat, HTC Corporation Launch First Android-powered Smartphone
DUBAI — Emirates Telecommunications Corporation, known as etisalat, and HTC Corporation of Taiwan announced on Wednesday the launch in the UAE of the “HTC Magic,” the emirates’ first Android-powered smartphone.
HTC designs, manufactures and markets touch phones, PDA phones, smartphones, and mobile computer devices.
The HTC Magic will be available in the market by the end of current month.
“The launch of this new smartphone is in accordance with our goal to remain highly responsive to the emerging and evolving needs of our customers. HTC Magic perfectly complements our diverse range of connectivity solutions with its superior mobile internet capability and advanced applications,” etisalat’s Chief Marketing Officer Essa Al Hadad said.
Omar M. Al Muzakki, Sr. Director of Product Marketing, Etisalat, said that total number of active susbcribers of blackberry have crossed 2,00,000 mark in the country while the company has sold around 2.5 million smart phones.
