Gulf Eco’which runs from January 11 to 13, will also feature a major conference on the environment, organised by Oman International Trade and Exhibitions, or OITE, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs.

“The event is set to be the most comprehensive environment-friendly exhibition in the region as it brings in the biggest names in the sectors including environment and climate, sustainable water and marine resources, alternative and renewable energy,” a spokeswoman for OITE said.

The show is aimed at addressing the needs of these sectors and will present a wide spectrum of cutting-edge technologies, solutions and effective services “that will pave the way for further growth and development with focus on sustainability and conservation,” she added.

“Given the current economic and environment climate and carbon legislation that is being pushed through at the Copenhagen Climate Change Summit, the sultanate’s Gulf Eco 2010 Exhibition and Conference is set to provide relevant updates and services that many organisations need in order to reduce costs and environmental impact,” the spokeswoman said. The fair, which will be attended by decision makers, influential officials and end-users of products, services and technologies, will also showcase the industry’s present and future development projects. The Gulf Eco Conference will focus on the challenges and issues concerning the environment and climate change.
