Shubhojit Mahalanobis, General Manager Group Operations of the Ajman-based Factory Mart, said the concept started four years ago became a success thanks to the lower prices offered on a line-up of global brands. Currently, through 42 outlets at the mart, 21 global brands are on sale.

These include Aldo, Amri, Nine West, Snowhite, Sillica, Chen One & Beverly Hills Polo Club. Mahalanobis, addressing press conference to announce the fourth anniversary sale, said the one-month event would offer discounts up to 70 per cent.

He said his company was upbeat about its growth prospects in 2009 too despite the dismal credit crunch as the company’s marketing concept befitted the current scenario.

“Factory Mart, the first of its kind to open in the UAE, is gaining popularity due to its varied tenants mix who offer amazing discounts and promotions round the year,” he said.

Mahalanobis said customer retention was the most difficult aspects in modern retailing, which every retailer is trying hard to experiment.

“A dynamic, genuine and interactive loyalty programme always does the trick of retaining the loyal customers and we specialise in direct marketing to ensure that we are in constant touch with customers using various forms of communication,” he added.

The anniversary sale will start from January 8 and end on February 9, and is open in all seven days till 11.00 pm.
