The theme park project, which is part of Abu Dhabi’s splash in the up-scale tourism segment, will be opened to public onOctober 28, just before the Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix taking place in November.

In a span of four years, Abu Dhabi has laid the foundations of ten mega projects, including some which are already complete, to attract high-end tourists to its iconic museums — the Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix race track, sites of eco and cultural tourism, sunny beaches, dozens of marinas, golf courses and other hotspots.

Among these ambitious projects, Ferrari World is the world’s largest theme park which is being built to magnify Ferrari’s spirit of innovation and its passion to win. Ferrari World, in order to celebrate the national day of Italy, invited a group of journalists to the construction sites on the Yas Island to familiarise them with the project.

Ferrari World Abu Dhabi General Manager Claus Frimand said that the theme park will be an intense multi-sensory experience and a must-visit for enthusiasts, fans and families.

Journalists saw work in progress at the Bell’Italia, a miniature recreation of famous Italian cityscapes structures and racing venues, featuring 17-stops along the way from the picturesque Portofino and the Amalfi Coast to Monza racetrack, the Colosseum in Roma, Venezia and Maranello, the heartland and home of Ferrari.

Present on the occasion was the Italian ambassador Paolo Dionisi, who termed as the perfect way to celebrate his nation’s national day at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi.

He couldn’t hide his jubilation over the world largest project which is almost complete saying: “Bell’Italia is an excellent tribute to Ferrari’s Italian roots and the beauty of my country.”

“I can’t wait to come back with my wife and daughters when the park opens in October.”

Its iconic sleek red roof, which is clearly visible from the newly constructed Khalifa Highway is directly inspired by the classic double curve side profile of the Ferrari GT body, spanning 200,000 square metres.

The theme park is owned by Aldar Properties PJSC, Abu Dhabi’s largest property developer, while Farah Leisure Parks Management L.L.C, a joint venture between Aldar Properties PJSC and ProFun Management Group Inc, a leisure facilities management and operating company, will be responsible for managing and operating it.
