French delegation to visit UAE, Qatar

DUBAI — An important delegation composed of French SME and SMI will travel to Qatar and the UAE in the coming days, as part of an initiative organised by the Franco-Arab Chamber of Commerce.

The objective of the visit is to explore the possibilities of economic cooperation with these two countries.

Headed by Herv de Charette, President of the Franco-Arab Chamber and former French Minister of Foreign Affairs, and in collaboration with the CGMPE 92, the Franco-Arab Chamber of Commerce (FACC) is organising a business trip designed for French SMEs from April 10-16.

The aim of this trip is to strengthen economic partnerships with both countries, organise personalised contacts (B2B) with partners and local enterprises in order to explore future opportunities of economic cooperation and exchange know-how in a variety of fields.

This delegation will also have the opportunity to participate in high-level meetings with officials from both countries, companies and top consultants from various fields will head to Qatar and the UAE, with the purpose of deepening and developing relations, cooperation, and business meetings in the following sectors: services: (education, training, and legal advice in implementation); bio-cosmetic (bio innovations); infrastructure, environment, and the sector of the industry in general.

This visit is organised in the framework of the strong political and economic ties which characterise the history of France’s relations with the UAE and Qatar.

The delegation will visit the UAE from April 13-16. It will travel to Abu Dhabi in order to visit the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development, where guests will be introduced to the “Abu Dhabi 2030” plan, and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce. The UBIFRANCE office in the UAE will also organise business meetings (B2B).

The delegation will be welcomed by the French Ambassador in the UAE and the partners of the French Export Team including UBIFRANCE, the French Business Group in Abu Dhabi, the French Business council in Dubai, the Regional Economic Department of the French embassy in UAE and the CCEF (Advisors for French foreign trade).

On the next day, the delegation will head to Dubai to visit the logistical re-exporting hub of Jebel Ali (DP World and JAFZA).

This visit will be followed by meetings with members of the French Business Council and B2B business meetings organised by the UBIFRANCE office in the UAE, as in Abu Dhabi a day earlier.
