Dubai: Samsung Electronics on Wednesday unveiled its flagship new Galaxy Note series with the introduction of the Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge for the Middle East and North Africa region in Dubai.
The Note 4 will be available at stores across the UAE at Dh2,799 from October 16 while the Note Edge will come to the market in early December, Samsung Gulf Electronics head of Telecommunications Hayssam Yasssine told Khaleej Times.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge will be available in limited quantity.
Note Edge is not for mass market and it will be available in limited quantity at a premium price, explained Yassine but didn’t disclose its price. “We haven’t finalised the prices for Note Edge,” he added. Talking about the industry, he said the market is growing and Samsung is maintaining its leading position with 46 per cent market share.
The new devices were launched at an exclusive event in Dubai, as part of an international world tour. Dubai was chosen as one of only a handful of cities in the world to host the Note 4 tour, showcasing the latest line up to the region.
“We are bringing something very special to this market,” said Samsung Gulf president Youngsoo Kim in his address to media while unveiling the new devices. These devices were created to suit the new mobile culture, moving towards larger-screen devices, Kim added. One of the important feature of the new device is its ability to take panoramic shot or “wide selfie”.
“With the Middle East and North Africa region leading the world’s smartphone penetration and with some of the industry’s most discerning, technologically savvy consumers, Dubai brings a strong tie between technology and trade, and is a natural port-of-call for the Middle East leg of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 World Tour,” Choong Ro Lee, president of Samsung Middle East and North Africa, said in a statement.
“Elements of the latest device, including its larger screen size and iconic S Pen technology, has launched a new benchmark in smartphone culture, and captures the demands of the Mena,” he added, referring to the devices’ Arabic Writing Recognition feature that instantly digitises Arabic handwritten text.”
A much more authentic pen experience, the S Pen has a natural brush effect that perfectly emulates writing on paper with a fountain or calligraphy pen, providing users with the most unique and powerful mobile experience on the market.
The Galaxy Note 4 embraces Samsung’s heritage of an unrivaled Galaxy mobile experience. Blending an evolved S Pen with a superior viewing experience, the Galaxy Note 4 provides users with the most unique and powerful mobile experience on the market. The Galaxy Note 4 also sports an advanced 16MP rear-facing camera system that is able to reproduce brighter and clearer images.
Another unique introduction at the Galaxy Note 4 World Tour reflects Samsung’s relentless pursuit of the best in innovation, leading to the debut of the inventive and unique Galaxy Note Edge for the first time in the region.
