The expo will further boost the Halal food business, not only in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, but worldwide where the sector has been growing streadily. This year, the Halal food trade is seen reaching $43.8 billion and an additionl $1 billion in 2010.
This year’s expo organiser, Orange Fairs & Events, said it has expanded the venue to 2,600 square metres to accommodate the 7,000 to 8,000 trade visitors expected to attend the event. “Amidst this economic crisis, the region has experienced a growing demand for Halal and Shariah compliant products, which is being further driven by the growing cooperation among market players across the globe on a single quality standard for Halal products,” said Raees Ahmed, Director, Orange Fairs & Events.
Companies from Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Croatia, Egypt, France, Germany, Indonesia, Iran, Italy, Jordan, KSA, Kuwait, Netherlands, Pakistan, Poland, The Philippines, Turkey, Thailand, Tunisia, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, UK, USA and the UAE are among those attending the event.
