ICT Majors to Launch New Products, Services at Gitex

DUBAI — A number of public and private companies on Saturday announced their plans to launch a series of new products, services and a number of savings packages during Gitex Technology Week 2009, starting today.

The 29th edition of the five-day dedicated platform for ICT companies will conclude on October 22.

Etisalat Business Solutions has planned to unveil a series of promotions during the exhibition to give customers attractive savings across its entire product and solutions portfolio.

“Gitex gives us a great opportunity for our customers to experience our diverse and innovative solutions portfolio along with the added incentive of attractive savings on our services,” Abdulla Hashim, Senior Vice-president, Business Solutions, Etisalat, said.

According to Etisalat, the key promotions include free Blackberry-storm with new subscriptions to BusinessOne ¾ MB package, one month free rental and installation on Internet Dedicated Access service, double bandwidth on IP Connect service at the same price, Dh185 credit back for international calls on Mobile Business Postpaid service and Dh165 credit back for international calls on Mobile Business Prepaid service.

DED eServices

The Dubai Department of Economic Development, or DED, is showcasing the eServices on its Website, www.dubaided.gov.ae, through its participation in Gitex 2009. DED has developed a range of online services for investors, and company owners, in co-operation with a number of other government departments to strengthen the quality of services offered to customers.

The eServices offered by DED include the ‘Transaction Status’ whereby customers can check the status by using a transaction number, licence number or initial approval number.

Tejari’s New Portal

Visitors at the pavilion of Tejari, a B2B gateway for electronic commerce in the Middle East, will have the opportunity to test the powerful features of its all-new version of B2B Web portal.

Tejari has re-engineered its online platform with a host of functionalities and several new features to make this virtual market place a common platform for the company’s dedicated community of about 200,000 members across the world.

Dubai Silicon Oasis

State-owned Dubai Silicon Oasis, or DSO, the region’s integrated innovations hub for high-tech industries, will seek further growth options through its participation in the exhibition.

During the event, visitors will have the chance to explore more about DSO, and its value proposition and free-zone benefits including competitive cost of operations, infrastructure, advanced IT network and 100 per cent ownership.

Sanyo Solutions

Sanyo Gulf, a subsidiary of Sanyo Electric Company Ltd, has announced that it has prepared a unique presentation with a wide range of product assortments for its participation at the event, showcasing cutting-edge technology solutions that are simple to use and can easily be integrated into the home or office environment.
