Jacky’s has planned big investment for this year as the multi-brand electronics retailer will deliver two more stores this year — one in Bawadi Mall and second in Mirdif.

“Our next store in Al Ain’s Bawadi Mall will start in the first quarter of 2009 while the second in Mirdif in the fourth quarter,” said Panjabi on Thursday after the opening of Jacky’s 13th store in Dubai Mall by the Consul General of India Venu Rajamony.

The company, which also operates a Jacky’s Express at the ground level of the mall, has invested over $2 million or Dh7.3 million in the two Dubai Mall outlets.

Located on the second level, the 8,000 square feet Jacky’s Electronics outlet encompasses special zones for several brand partners as well as the largest Jacky’s dedicated gaming section for live demonstration.

“We are focusing to provide more value to customers as they will get four-year extended warranty, which will give peace of mind to customers,” said Panjabi.

“Although the impact of the economic slowdown will probably be felt across all sectors, it will vary from industry to industry. The electronics industry in the region is still going to be relatively better off as the market for gifting electronics products has been growing constantly. With consumer electronics as part of everyday life, we will still see people continuing to buy this year, however, it will be value for money rather than the fashion appeal that will influence their purchasing decisions,” Jimmy Patel, General Manager, Jacky’s Electronics.

“It is a strategic decision for Jacky’s to have two outlets in Dubai Mall as it is the largest shopping mall in the country. The Jacky’s Express on the ground level will target shoppers looking for digital lifestyle products while the Jacky’s Electronics at the second level offers a complete IT product range, home appliances and a wider range of audio video products to consumers,” said Jimmy Patel, GM, Jacky’s Electronics. “The main attractions of the newly opened outlet are the various special zones for major partners such as Sony, Panasonic, Samsung, LG, JVC and Philips for the television section. It also contains dedicated home theatre demonstration rooms, touch & feel zones for cameras and mobile phones and a dedicated gaming area,” he added.
