The new routes will increase growth in capacity by 65 per cent compared to last summer, its Chief Executive Officer Andrew M. Cowen told Khaleej Times at Arabian Travel Market which concludes on Friday. The carrier is starting new routes from Kuwait and Bahrain and will increase frequencies from Dubai. The budget airline will take delivery of two new Airbus A320s in the summer of this year, bringing its total fleet to ten aircraft. “We will get five more aircraft in the first half of next year and then will announce more destinations in summer 2010, Cowen informed and added: “Our order list comprises of 40 aircraft worth $2.5 billion.”

While ruling out any delay in the aircraft delivery, he said, “We are going opposite as we can get advance delivery.”

“Despite the financial crisis, Jazeera Airways is focused on growing its network and continuing to provide new routes in the region and lower fares. These new routes and increased frequencies follow an increase in demand for lower fares by both leisure and business travellers, Cowen said.
