LG Electronics is stepping up its game when it comes to artificial intelligence on mobiles.
The South Korean company on Sunday announced that it will be launching its new LG V30S ThinQ at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, integrating new AI tech into the most commonly used features that are closely aligned to the needs and usage behaviour of consumers today.
"Many companies talk about AI but we're already delivering on our promise... [with] the LG V30S ThinQ," Hwang Jeong-hwan, president of LG Mobile Communications, said in a statement to Khaleej Times.
"And we will continue to introduce new AI capabilities to enhance usability."
The V30S ThinQ features Vision AI, coming with three camera capabilities that enhance image capturing: AI CAM, which analyses subjects for optimal shots; QLens, which scans QR codes to boost online shopping; and Bright Mode, which uses special algorithms.
The smartphone also comes with a new digital assistant, Voice AI, which, working with Google Assistant, takes out the need to go through menu options and allows direct selection of specific functions.
The device comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. A higher-end version, the V30S+ ThinQ, has 256GB of storage.
LG also says that the phone is still the lightest and thinnest in the six-inches-and-up category.
As at Press time, no release date and prices were available.
