The third edition of the "VAT Clinic" will be held on Friday, December 15, at the Indian Consulate Auditorium in Dubai, to help clarify doubts and answer questions about value added tax from the public.
The forum is organised by the UAE's first English daily Khaleej Times in cooperation with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Dubai Chapter and the Indian Consulate in Dubai, with the support of Qadi Accountants. The forum is open to Indian nationals who are seeking clarification about VAT regulations. Senior industry experts will respond to questions during the two-hour session. The registration desk will be open from 2:20pm to 2:40pm at the auditorium, which has a capacity to accommodate 400 people.
"We are hosting 'VAT Clinic' this time on a bigger scale so that the knowledge of VAT can be explained to other people by opening it for the public," said Naveen Sharma, chairman of ICAI (Dubai Chapter).
After a welcome address by Anish Mehta, secretary of ICAI (Dubai Chapter), the gathering will be addressed by Vinay Kamat, editor of Khaleej Times; Sharma; and Vipul, Consul-General of India to Dubai. Following that, a two-hour interactive session will be held where four VAT experts will answer questions from the public and ICAI members.
VAT experts answering the questions include Girish Chand, director of MCA Management Consultants; Manu Nair, CEO of Emirates Chartered Accountants Group; Sangeetha Nahar, senior manager for finance at Dubai Properties Group; and Dilip Jain, VAT lead at the ICAI VAT Faculty. The ICAI Dubai Chapter is also organising a 'VAT Open World' technical seminar on Saturday, December 16, at the Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies in Dubai Academic City.
Clare McColl, head of indirect tax at MPMG; Ankur Jain, senior manager of VAT at KPMG; and Pratik Shah, partner at WTS Dhruva Consultant, will address the audience. Srinivas Achar, CFO of National Hospital; Pramod Rajgaria, CEO of Star Cement; Jignesh Sanghvi, CFO of the DMCC; Rajesh Garg, Group CFO of Landmark Group; and Nirav Shah, director of Fame Advisory, will be part of the panel.
