Over 250 Exhibitors to Attend ‘WoodShow Dubai 2010’

DUBAI - The ‘WoodShow Dubai’, the Middle East’s only wood industry-focused exhibition, will kick off its 2010 edition from April 13 to 15, 2010. Over 250 global exhibitors from more than 40 countries will attend the three-day at Dubai Airport Expo.

According to a Press release, the expected growth in the international exhibitor count is in line with the rising demand for hardwood lumber in the region, with import figures projected to reach an estimated $500 million in 2009.

This increase has prompted Strategic Marketing and Exhibitions, the event organiser, to expand the event’s gross area, which will cover 16,944 square metres and feature different halls for forestry and products, tools, equipment, finishing, timber, and outdoor furniture in 2010.

Now in its 5^th edition, ‘WoodShow Dubai’ is expected to connect more companies than ever, incorporating recommendations from companies and associations present in past events to further complement the present market conditions and industry practices. As a result, instead of holding one event this year, the organiser has divided the show into two biannual editions — the ‘Wood, Wood Products & Furniture Show’ and the ‘Wood & Wood Machinery Show’.

This will give more focus on wood furniture, veneer, laminates and other products, and on providing a venue where visitors can learn more about wood and meet the most highly qualified operators in the business, while the latter will showcase the latest innovations in wood machineries and the technologies being developed to increase efficiency in the manufacturing process.
