During this visit, the consul general was briefed on the industrial and real estate developments in Ras Al Khaimah as well as the investment opportunities and incentives offered by the emirate for Korean investors. He also met with RAKIA’s CEO Khater Massaad and discussed ways to further strengthen the collaboration between Korea and Ras Al Khaimah.
Up to date, major industrial Korean key players like Young Hwa for steel products, Pos-Jk for steel products, Hanmaek for structural steel products and Sharaf Finetec Cylinders for gas cylinders and industrial gases are licensed with RAKIA with manufacturing facilities on up to 155,000 square metres of land. Most of them have been prosperously conducting business from Ras Al Khaimah for almost five years already. In addition, RAKIA has attracted several trading and consulting companies from the country.
Khater Massaad, CEO, RAKIA, said: “We were delighted about this rare opportunity to welcome His Excellency in our Free Zone and to have such fruitful discussions and vivid information exchange. We have always highly appreciated the positive business relations we share with Korea and hope that many more than the already existing Korean investors will join RAKIA in the near future.”
Park Kyu-Ock, Consul General of the Republic of Korea, said: “I thank RAKIA’s team for their hospitality and enjoyed my stay in Ras Al Khaimah very much. To see that so many Korean investors are successfully doing business from this impressive place gives me great pleasure, and I believe that Korea and Ras Al Khaimah will have an even brighter future together. I will not spare any efforts in exchange of visits by business leaders between Korea and Ras Al Khaimah, especially the visit of Dr. Khater Massaad, CEO of RAKIA to Korea in the near future. We look forward to further strengthen our ties with Ras Al Khaimah for a mutual growth and sustainable development of both our economies.”
RAKIA was established in 2005 to promote trade, investment, growth and economic development in Ras Al Khaimah through Free Zones and Industrial Parks.
