Ras Al Khaimah to Host Global Arab Business Meeting in September
RAS AL KHAIMAH — The RAK Investment Authority, or RAKIA, the government body responsible for attracting foreign direct investment for the Government of Ras Al Khaimah and Horasis, an International Swiss Organisation from Geneva, will jointly host the inaugural Global Arab Business Meeting in the emirate on September 26 and 27.
The Global Arab Business Meeting aims to be the foremost annual gathering of Arab business leaders and their global counterparts. The meeting shall help to conceptualise Arab firms’ rise to global eminence. The event is open to CEOs of the world’s leading companies.
“The Global Arab Business meeting shall integrate the top decision-makers from all sectors of Arab and global economies, aimed at finding strategies to expanding the operations outside their region and RAKIA is delighted to co-host the Global Arab Business Meeting. The meeting will also be a platform for the business leaders from across the world to exchange their views and understand the business dynamics of the region especially of Ras Al Khaimah,” said RAKIA CEO Dr Khater Massaad.
Dr Massaad said that the UAE and RAK have solid competitive advantages unmatched in the region to support growth and attract investments. He said that even amidst the global financial crisis, there has been a steady increase in the number of companies registered under RAKIA, with around 2700 companies registered so far with an estimated investment of $3 billion.
“The meeting will bring together around 300 CEOs from across the world, including those of Fortune 1000 companies and prominent business leaders from across the Arab region,” said Horasis President Dr Frank-Juergen Richter.
The programme for the Global Arab Business Meeting is designed not only to discuss the impact of the crisis on the Arab world, but also consider how the regions robust economies can contribute to a global recovery.
The Global Arab Business meeting will be held in the newly built Al Hamra Palace Hotel in Jazzera Al Hamra. Horasis already hosts regional meetings focusing on China, India and Russia.
