Reel to Open 12 More Cinemas at Dubai Mall

DUBAI — Reel Entertainment LLC, the joint venture of Emaar Retail and Singapore-based premier entertainment provider Cathay Organisation Holdings Ltd., will open an additional 12 Reel Cinemas before the end of the year to complete the 22-screen megaplex with a seating capacity of 2,800.

The completion of Dubai Mall’s latest entertainment fare, will make Reel Cinemas the biggest movie complex in the UAE. Straddling more than 150,000 square feet, the Reel Cinemas megaplex has direct access from the mall’s car park to its two luxurious lobbies. Arif Amiri, CEO, Emaar Retail, said: “We are truly excited to have opened the first Reel Cinemas megaplex in the UAE; it is a superb addition to our leisure and entertainment portfolio here at The Dubai Mall.” The 10 movie houses which are currently operating feature state-of-the-art projection and audio visual systems, as well as ergonomically designed seats. For added convenience, an online booking function has been created for guests to pre-purchase movie tickets. This advanced booking service allows guests to select their seats, giving them first choice of the best seats in the house, while an express queue reduces waiting time at the box office.
