SCTDA and Etisalat Announce Partnership
SHARJAH — The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, or SCTDA, has announced its strategic partnership with Etisalat as they prepare to launch the Etisalat-Sharjah Water Festival 2009, which will take place in Sharjah from December 2-12, for which Etisalat will be the title sponsor. The annual festival includes a wide variety of water-themed entertainment and activities, and culminates in the Sharjah Grand Prix.
This announcement was made in a speech given by SCTDA Chairman Shaikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi during a ceremony organised by the Authority and held at the Millennium Hotel in Sharjah. Also in attendance at the ceremony were SCTDA Director-General Mohamed A. Al Noman, Abdul Aziz Taryam, GM of Etisalat (Northern Emirates region) and a number of VIPs. Al Qassimi highlighted the importance of this partnership with Etisalat, saying, “The UAE is widely recognised for its proficiency and skill in hosting high-profile international events, surpassing the efforts of many advanced countries, thanks in large part to the giant steps it has taken to enhance all aspects of life — economy, science, society, arts and culture, and sport. These steps could only have been achieved through the country’s determination to establish freedom, justice, forgiveness and goodwill among the nations of the world, under the wise directives of Late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the Rulers of the UAE.”
