SCTDA board discusses plans for H2 2010

DUBAI — The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority discussed new strategies and promotional plans for the second half of 2010 at the recent board of directors meeting, which also focused on following up on the latest developments in Sharjah’s tourism sector, as well as developing and updating the authority’s plans to cope with the boom in the 
tourism sector.

The meeting was presided over by SCTDA Chairman Shaikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qassimi, and attended by Saeed Obaid Al Jarwan, SCTDA Deputy Chairman, as well as the board members.

In his speech, Shaikh Sultan underlined the importance of stepping up efforts to improve the performance of the emirate’s tourism sector, as well as putting in place new plans to promote Sharjah as a unique tourism, heritage, cultural and family destination in the region. “2010 has seen a noticeable increase in the SCTDA’s activities targeting the local, regional and international markets, in order to cope with the growing demands of Sharjah’s tourism market and provide the best offerings,” said Shaikh Sultan. business@khaleejtimes.com
