According to the contract Haifa Industrial is to provide SEDD with 7,086 48-litre liquid gas cylinders with an overall value of Dh900,000. All gas cylinders must be delivered before the end of 2009. “SEDD is always watching the market through its specialised teams to make sure consumer demand is met. Our work has two bases: first, to make sure that products and services are provided according to international quality standards; second, to make sure that safety standards concerning certain daily-use products, including liquid gas cylinders, are applied.” Saif Ibrahim of the SEDD’s Control and Commercial Protection department, said. “This agreement comes after in-depth studies conducted by the SEDD to evaluate the gas cylinders currently used in the emirate. SEDD recommends that consumers follow safety precautions when dealing with gas cylinders, such as putting the cylinders in well-ventilated places, keeping the cylinders away from heat sources and flammable objects, and making sure that cylinder valves are tightly shut after use.”
