Shaikh Mohammed, Badawi Discuss Bilateral Trade Ties

At a meeting held at the Zabeel Palace, in the presence of Dubai, Crown Prince Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the two premiers reviewed the bilateral relations between the UAE and Malaysia and discussed ways for enhancing them, especially in the fields of tourism, finance and Islamic banking in public and private sectors.

The two leaders held the view that this could be achieved through extending new bridges of cooperation in the related fields.

The talks also explored the idea of evolving a mechanism for reactivating the world economy from the recession brought about by the global financial crisis. The two leaders also stressed the need for unifying the efforts and energies in the Islamic countries for the sake of regaining the growth of their respective economies.

They also noted that the islamic countries have the capability for overcoming this phase of economic slump through harnessing their energies, intellectual powers, material resources and a joint vision.
