Shaikh Saud welcomed the 60-member delegation, consisting of members of the British Business Group Dubai and Northern Emirates, and expressed optimism that the visit would help build new business partnerships and strengthen the existing trade and investment cooperation between Ras Al Khaimah and the United Kingdom.

“Ras Al Khaimah has a lot to offer to British companies and investors. We have taken a proactive approach in creating the right infrastructure and logistics support for industries along with an investor friendly business and regulatory environment. British companies can secure a highly efficient and cost- effective gateway to the wider Middle East markets and the Indian subcontinent by basing their businesses in Ras Al Khaimah,” Shaikh Saud said.

Shaikh Saud also called for increased level of engagement between the business community in Ras Al Khaimah and the British businesses based in the UAE, especially among small and medium enterprises.

Guy Warrington said that there has been an overwhelming interest from British businesses to be part of the delegation to RAK, highlighting the great significance attached by British business community towards investment opportunities available in the emirate.

“British businesses and investors are impressed by the attractive investment proposition offered by Ras Al Khaimah. Apart from the general pro-business climate present in UAE as a whole, Ras Al Khaimah has some unique selling points like the cost advantage offered by the emirate and the possibility of having government entities as stakeholders in businesses,” the Consul-general added.

The delegation also included Mark Beer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of British Business Group, Dave Wells, Deputy Head of UK Trade and Investment at the British Embassy, Mohammed Al Bastaki, Trade and Investment Attache, apart from several leading British businessmen.

Shaikh Omar bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of Ras Al Khaimah’s Ruler’s Private Affairs Department, Shaikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Shaikh Abdullah bin Humaid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Office Manager of RAK Crown Prince, and heads of government departments attended the meeting.
