Sales of camping equipment has increased as residents and visitors look towards enjoying the beauties of nature here.

The demand for tents, chairs and barbeque kits is on the rise as the weather after some recent rains makes conditions excellent for outdoor living.

Families, who used to remain home because of the soaring temperatures, now go out to enjoy the fresh air, equipped with beverages and food, chairs and easy to carry carpets. Many go to the parks while some prefer camping in the desert.

With eye-catching greenery and fabulous plants, Dibba, Masafi, Bleida, Buthna, Wadi Sahm, Ferfar and Jaruf are the preferred hill destinations.

A merchant in the emirate said all his family members get ready every winter with stuff required for travelling and camping. They get ready with different types of chairs, counters, tables, shades, and heaters.

Mohammed Eissa, an expat shopper, said he likes the promotions and sales during the time of the year. “This is the only chance to buy the items needed. I always go shopping with my friends from Dubai and other emirates. We are used to spending the Eid days camping, particularly in the Faqeet area in Dibba,” he said.

Nader Eissa, Emirati, said he always goes shopping these days, before Eid.

“Eid will come at the end of the month, and the whole salary will be over in a day or two by then. I will have no chance to buy anything, particularly as my family is used to going out on Fridays and Saturdays during the Eid days,” he said.
