SIB opens Global Village stall

DUBAI — South Indian Bank has launched its operations in the Global Village by opening a stall.· Naresh Mehta, Consul General of India, Dubai, inaugurated the stall. The function was attended by Mohammed Sharif Hadi, chairman of Hadi Express Exchange.· George Paul, chief manager of the bank, said it was for the second consecutive time South Indian Bank was making its presence at the Global Village to cater to the needs of its overseas customers.·

The Global Village stand will serve as a service point to existing customers, Paul said. Visitors can also establish a new relationship with the bank by opening an account at their preferred branches. Visitors to the stand can obtain the bank’s NRE Welcome Kit –which contains a cheque book and ATM card. Visitors can also apply for the new Visa cards issued by the bank at the stall. The bank, which was selected as India’s Best Bank 2010, in the Business world – Price Water House Coopers Best Banks survey 2010, has a network of 600 plus branches and over 400 ATMs, ensuring footprint in 26 Indian states and union territories. issacjohn@khaleejtimes.com
