A number of travel professionals believe the new zero commission environment would give them the opportunity to prove the value of the service they provided.

Agents, in the UAE however say they are prepared for a zero commission environment.

There is no doubt that the implementation of zero per cent makes the proposition of the travel agent much clearer to the customer, according to an Industry report.

The report says that at the moment the commission is shared between the travel agent and the customer, with the customer receiving a rebate and the travel agent receiving compensation for the products and services it delivers to the customer.

According to Iain Andrew, divisional senior VP, Dnata Travel Services, there is no doubt that the implementation of zero per cent makes the proposition of the travel agent much clearer to the customer.
