Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Wednesday honoured 14 UAE-based companies with Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award in recognition of their exceptional performance.
The 6th Cycle Award ceremony was attended by Shaikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, as well as Shaikh Mohammad bin Saud Al Qasimi, Crown Prince of Ras Al Khaimah, heads of government departments, dignitaries, board members of Dubai Chamber, representatives of business councils, groups and trade centres working under the umbrella of Dubai Chamber, and a large number of businessmen and members of the media.
Fourteen UAE-based companies received 15 awards including the ‘most outstanding performance award’ to Dubai Refreshments. In order to boost competitiveness, the award selected winners and best performance in each category.
The winners of the best performance award in each category include Dubai Medical College for Girls in Service, Dubai Refreshments in Manufacturing, Standard Chartered Bank in Finance, Vopak Horizon Fujairah Limited in Transport and Logistics, Paris Gallery in Trade, National Petroleum Construction Company in Construction and Danube Building Materials in Re-Export category.
In his welcome address, Abdul Rahman Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman, Dubai Chamber said: “Since the launch of the Award, we realised that we have created an award to reward and recognise exceptional performance in a structured and objective manner, as the award over the years has served as a strong incentive for private sector companies in the country to upgrade their services and stimulate institutional performance.”
On his part, Al Mansouri, who is also Chairman of the Panel of Judges of the Award, stated that the winners of this prestigious business performance award have not only proven their ability to excel locally but also globally, as the award is created on best international practices business excellence standards for organisations to compete in any macroeconomic environment.

Eng Yahya bin Saeed Al Lootah, member of Board of Trustees, Dubai Medical College (DMC) and chief executive officer of S.S.
