This was stated by Dato’ Yahaya Bin Abdul Jabar, Ambassador of Malaysia to the UAE here on Sunday on the sidelines of the Press conference convened to announce the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) to be held in Kuala Lumpur from May 18 to 20.

“The financial crisis had its toll on the trade between the UAE and Malaysia in 2009 when the figure crashed by almost 50 per cent. But now it is already on the path of recovery.

Malaysia is expected to grow by 3.5 per cent to four per cent this year, and the UAE is also expected to grow three to four per cent.

And there is definitely scope for bolstering up the trade between the two countries this year,” the Ambassador said.
