The visitors were also briefed on Transguard Group and its roles in the support of Group Security’s mission. They toured the purpose-built headquarters for Emirates Group Security and its Transguard business divisions – a one-stop centre designed to efficiently and securely handle valuables for commercial and international shipping. Special focus was placed on strengthening the barriers in aviation security through Emirates’ in-house security education programme.

Dr Abdulla Al Hashimi, Divisional Senior Vice-President Emirates Group Security, said: “The role played by airlines in border control and aviation security is increasingly important and the visit by the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Security and Counter-Terrorism reflects this.”

“The development of a strong relationship between industry and states allow for airlines to develop a greater integrated approach to border control and aviation security which facilitates passengers better,” added Al Hashimi.
