Visa Kicks Off DSF 2010 in Style

DUBAI - Visa, the world’s leading payment network, celebrated its sponsorship of DSF and the forthcoming FIFA World Cup South Africa with shoppers at Mall of the Emirates recently.

Shoppers who used their Visa cards were given the opportunity to compete in a foosball tournament to win goodie bags filled with an array of Visa FIFA World Cup merchandise, as well as being automatically entered into the draw to win tickets to the FIFA World Cup.

More than 8500 players battled it out over the first week of DSF 2010, testing their foosball skills and walking away with a host of fun filled rewards.

Speaking about the foosball tournament, Norliza Kassim, Visa’s Head of Regional Marketing, MENA, said: “This event celebrates two important milestones for Visa in 2010: our fifteenth consecutive year as a DSF sponsor and the year of the FIFA World Cup. We have sponsored the world renowned shopping festival since 1996 and want to celebrate this year’s festival in an innovative way which also ties into our relationship with FIFA. This year we have given shoppers a taste of football fun during DSF and tested their foosball skills in anticipation of the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa.
