China's vivo introduced the X50 line-up to the UAE on Monday, its new flagship series that once again digs deep into camera technologies, which have become a focal point of consumer preferences.
Both the X50 and X50 Pro have a quad-lens camera system, with the higher-end latter coming with more storage and camera specs that are a tad higher.
The Dongguan-headquartered company has undertaken an aggressive approach in bringing out new devices to the market that covers all price points. It recently launched the V19, a budget-segment smartphone that comes with a quad-camera setup.
The X50 and X50 Pro - priced at Dh2,299 and Dh2,999, respectively - aim to take on the big names of the market with a number of top-end specs at a lower tag. It also supports 5G technologies.
Vivo touts the cameras on the X50 as 'professional-grade'. Aside from new stabilisation, night mode, portrait and zoom offerings, they come with a top-of-the-line gimbal system, which reduces shaking to capture clearer photos even while in motion.
A gimbal, in simplest terms, is a system equipped with sensors and motors that allows a camera to rotate smoothly along an axis.
The X50 series will allow users to capture moments "in a simple way", said Jet Xu, vivo's head of business for the Middle East and Africa.
"These are the first X series devices to be launched globally and we are excited to share the best of our innovative technology and design concepts with consumers," he added.
Vivo also introduced the truly-wireless TWS Earphone Neo, which features AI noise cancellation.
