The meeting which started on Monday will run until March 20.
BCSD-UAE is the local arm of WBCSD which operates under the umbrella of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The chamber will be represented in the meeting by its External Relations Officer Mohammed Jumma Al Mashrakh.
The event aims to create a platform for communication among BCSD-UAE and business councils in 56 countries across the world, mostly from Europe and South America. It will explore various issues related to the concept of sustainable development and will feature a number of seminars and workshops highlighting scientific research, studies and work papers to be presented by experts as well as leaders of several companies, banks, and regional and international bodies.
The meeting will focus on WBCSD’s “Vision 2050,” which targets changes in production and consumption patterns and the protection of resources as well as their optimal use.
