Ahmad steals show in Malik Contracting win

Ahmad Malik’s five-wicket haul for 27 runs helped Malik Contracting clinch a massive 111-run win over Al Futtaim Honda in the Trucape RamadanT20 cricket tournament 2013 organised by Ajman Cricket Council, a Press release stated.

Malik Contracting, batting first, scored 216 runs in 19 overs. Hassnain Shah smashed 72 off 38 balls, including four boundaries and six 6’s and was well supported by Imran Khan, who scored 54 runs including three boundaries and 5 towering sixes. John Coutinho was pick of the Al Futtaim bowlers with four wickets.

Al Futtaim Honda, in reply, lost wickets at regular before being dismissed for 105 in 14.1 overs. John was the top scorer for the team who made 22 runs while Ghulam made 16 with this victory Malik Contracting advance to Q.finals .Ahmad Malik was declared player of the match for his brilliant bowling.

In the first quarter-finals, Dubai Hawks defeated Conforce CC by 10 runs. Dubai Hawks, who elected to bat first, were in bit difficulty when they lost their both openers in quick time. Bilal Irshad and Rashid Khan handled the innings well and took their team to a respectable total of 183 runs.

Rashid scored 40 runs while Bilal made 29 runs off 11 balls, hitting two boundaries and three sixes. Arsalan took four wickets and Awais claimed three.

Conforce started their chase in good passion but lost their way following Awais’ (19) dismissial. Despite Zulfiqar Khan’s cameo knock of 51 runs, made with 5 sixes and 3 boundaries and while Farhan’s 20 runs, Conforce managed to score 173 for nine wickets at the end of the allotted 20 overs.

Ahmed Shaukat bowled a superb spell of his quota overs in which he took four wickets and gave away 31 runs while Asim and Farhan had two wickets each.
