Al Jazira club's newly-appointed Board Executive Committee held a virtual meeting on Sunday for the first time since a resolution was issued by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and President of Al Jazira Sports and Cultural Club.
Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, chairman of the Board Executive Committee and vice chairman of the club, welcomed all members, stressing the importance of uniting behind a clear, commercially minded and results orientated strategy that includes optimizing the structure, developing talent pathways in all sports, improving operational efficiencies and embedding best-in-class governance, according to a press release.
Board Executive Committee Members: Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh; Rashed Ateeq Al Hameli; Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi; Saeed Abdullah bin Sheiban; Tareq Ahmed Al Masoud; Sultan Dhahi Al Humairi; and Hamad Al Hurr Rashid Al Suwaidi were all in attendance.
The Executive Committee's first meeting included several decisions aimed at ensuring the financially sustainable growth of the club including:
Revisions to the Club's organisational design and reporting structures to enable more centralised decision-making and workflow
Formation of technical sub-committees across key business areas to ensure efficient implementation of policies and adherence to best in class governance systems
Adoption of key operational principles that underpin the club's approach and define a clear code of conduct at all levels of the organisation
Appointment of a football technical director to help craft longer-term strategies around investing in our young players to achieve the club's sporting objectives and guide future squad investments
The Board Executive Committee will meet regularly to review progress of the club's strategy and address key decisions, as the club continues to accelerate on its journey and deliver the vision and ambitions of its leadership.
